Spicy Swirls

Ingredients:
Puff Pastry Sheets -- 1 sheet
Onion -- 1/4 cup finely chopped
Red Capsicum -- 1/2 cup finely chopped
Green Capsicum -- 1/2 cup finely chopped
Yellow capsicum -- 1/2 cup finely chopped
Carrot -- 1/4 cup finely chopped / grated
Fresh Green Peas -- 1/4 cup
Mashed Potato Flakes -- 3tbsp
Salt to taste
Garam Masala -- 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder -- 1/2 tsp (Or according to taste)
Cilantro -- 2tbsp finely chopped
Oil -- 2 tsp + For Brushing
Method:
For the Masala :
  • Heat a pan with oil.
  • Add the onions and fry till soft.
  • Now add red capsicum, green capsicum, yellow capsicum, carrot and green peas and fry for a minute.
  • Cover and cook till soft.
  • Finally add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala , mashed potato flakes and stir well.
  • Add the chopped cilantro and allow to cool.

Arranging the sheet :

  • Thaw the pastry sheet at room temperature for 40 minutes or until it's easy to handle.
  • Heat the oven to 400°F.
  • Lightly grease 2 baking sheets or line with parchment paper.
  • Unfold the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  • Brush the pastry sheet with oil. Top with the masala mixture.
  • Starting at the short side closest to you, roll up like a jelly roll.
  • Cut into 20 (1/2-inch) slices.
  • Place the slices cut-side down on the baking sheets.
  • Brush with oil.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the swirls are golden.
  • Serve warm ...
