INGREDIENTS :

Milk Powder -- 2 Cups
Condensed milk - 1 (14oz CAN)
Butter -- 4 ounce (8 Table Spoon)
Nuts -- Cashews or Almonds or Pistachios For Garnishing

Method:

Take a Glass BOWL which should be big enough to mix the whole mixture. Add butter to the bowl, put it in a microwave for one minute and remove it out, it should be in liquid form now.

Now add milk powder to it and mix it really well, then add Condensed Milk to it. Mix it again very well. Put this Mixture Bowl in a Microwave for 1 Minute.Take it out from microwave and mix it neatly so that no lumps form.Put in microwave again for 1 minute and take it out mix it again.

(MIXING IS VERY IMPORTANT AND THE MIXTURE SHOULD GET THICKER AT THIS STAGE).

Put in Microwave again for 1 minute and remove it out and allow the mixture to cool down.. keep this mixture in Refrigerator for 10 to 15 Min's to cool down,When it is cool down remove it out and start making Peda balls.
Garnish with cashews, almonds or pistachios ..Pedas are ready..!!!

Palgova or Thirattipal

Normally thirattipal is made out of fresh milk and sugar. The milk is allowed to boil till it thickens and curdles. Which requires the milk to be mixed continuously, after which sugar is added till the required consistency is obtained. You can also make thirattipal with milk and powdered jaggery. This is quite a time consuming process. Try out this simpler recipe which is made in a microwave and which gives the same taste but can be prepared in minutes..

Ingredients:

Sweetened Condensed milk - 1 Can 14 oz
Fresh yogurt - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp

Method:
Take a broad deep microwave safe bowl. Pour all the ingredients in the bowl and mix well. Keep the bowl in the microwave and cook in high for 2 minutes. Take it out, mix well and again cook for 2 more minutes in high. Repeat the process once more. If required keep for one more minute. The expected consistency is that the ghee starts to come out and the thirattipal obtains a brownish colour. Mix well and allow to cool..

Thirattpal is ready to serve.
