- Heat a pan with oil.
- Add Channa Dal , coriander seeds and red chillies and fry till it turns golden brown in colour.
- Allow to cool.
- Add coconut and grind to a coarse powder
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
How to use the powder :
Prepare sambar as per this method or your usual method : http://chutneys-sumathi.blogspot.com/2008/07/sambar-pigeon-pea-cooked-in-tamarind.html and instead of adding the regular sambar powder add this spice powder and allow to boil. Yummy delicious sambar is ready..
